Extractions

Teeth are extracted when they are not restorable or the long term prognosis is very poor. A bone graft will likely be recommend to fill in the space where the tooth was removed.

Bone Grafting

A bone graft is particulate bone packed into the socket after the removal of the tooth. It is recommended to prevent defects in the bone and quality so that an implant or support for another prosthesis will have a better prognosis. It typically takes 3-4 months for the graft and your bone to fully integrate.

Wisdom Teeth

Wisdom teeth are the most posterior teeth in the mouth. If they are/will create a problem for your second molars or hurt, they are recommend for removal. If your wisdom teeth are unerupted (under the gums) we will refer you to an experienced oral surgeon for removal.
